Alexander Shulgin, the late biochemist known for his work on psychedelic drugs, described his own DMT experience in a 1997 book he wrote with his wife and collaborator, Ann Shulgin.

What is DMT Vice City Labs?

N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a naturally occurring compound found in many plant species and, in small amounts, in the nervous systems of humans and other mammals. Chemically, it is related to neurotransmitters involved in mood and memory.
DMT is considered a classic psychedelic and has been used for its psychoactive properties for centuries, like LSD, peyote, psilocybin and mescaline. All of these act mainly on the serotonin 2A receptor, even though their effects, onset and duration differ.
As a serotonin 2A receptor agonist, DMT changes sensory perception, thinking and other aspects of consciousness. It also acts on several other receptors and pathways.
Research published in the journal Scientific Reports (Nature) found that DMT changes both the brain’s chemistry and its electrical activity in ways that line up with what users report. In other words, the effects people feel track measurable changes in the brain.
