Gold Edition vs Liquified Diamonds

Both lines are the same price, the same 1 gram fill and the same 510 hardware, so the choice mostly comes down to flavor. The Gold Edition side leans on fruit and classic strain names, King Louis XIII and Mango Kush among them. The Liquified Diamonds side runs sweeter and more dessert led: Glazed Donut, Peppermint Mocha, Oreoz.

You will find plenty of confident claims online about exactly how each line is extracted and how potent it is. Our listing gives an 80 to 90 percent THC range, and we do not have lab results of our own to narrow that down, so that is as far as we will go.

Are Mad Labs Carts Real or Fake?

This is the question most people searching Mad Labs are really asking, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a sales pitch.

There is a licensed Mad Labs. It is a California brand, made under a state manufacturing license held by Master Extracts Inc., a licensed manufacturer in Kern County that also produces other brands. Licensed California product reaches customers through licensed California dispensaries. In the part of its range that is publicly listed, most of it is all-in-one disposables in 1 gram and 2 gram sizes, sold as Gold Edition, alongside a smaller set of 1 gram carts.

Alongside that brand there are dozens of websites calling themselves the official Mad Labs, each warning you about the others. None of the ones we checked shows a license number. Some of the flavor names we carry, King Louis XIII and Lychee Splash among them, also appear in the licensed range. The Liquified Diamonds cart line does not appear in any of the licensed products we could see.

So to be clear about ours: we do not claim our Mad Labs carts are that licensed California product.

If you are buying Mad Labs in a California dispensary and want to check a unit, three things are worth looking at:

• The manufacturer license number. California labels carry it. Look it up on the Department of Cannabis Control license search to see who holds it and whether it is active.
• The batch number and COA. The batch printed on the box should match a certificate of analysis from a licensed testing lab.
• The California cannabis symbol. Licensed product carries the state’s universal symbol. Its absence is a warning sign on its own.

Are Mad Labs Carts Safe?

Safety comes down to testing. A licensed unit comes with a certificate of analysis from a licensed lab covering potency, pesticides, residual solvents and heavy metals, and you can read it before you use the cart. A cart without a verifiable COA may be perfectly fine, but you have no way of knowing, and that is true whatever brand name is printed on the box.

Mad Labs 2G Carts

2 gram Mad Labs is searched more than anything else in the range except the brand name itself and the real or fake question. Most of what people are finding is not actually a cart. In the part of the licensed range we could see, every 2 gram product is an all-in-one disposable with its own battery, not a 510 cartridge.

We do not currently stock a 2 gram Mad Labs product of any kind. If you want more oil per order, the bulk box of 50 is the closest thing we have.

Mad Labs Carts Price

$25 for a single 1 gram cart, whichever flavor you choose. The two bulk boxes, 50 Gold Edition or 50 Diamond Edition, are $1,000 each, which is $20 a cart. Dispensary pricing for licensed Mad Labs varies from store to store, so we will not quote a number for it.

How to Use a Mad Labs Cart

• Battery. Any standard 510 thread battery works. Screw the cart on gently, because overtightening can damage the connection.
• Voltage. Start low and work up. Too much heat burns the oil and flattens the flavor.
• Not hitting. Usually a blocked mouthpiece or cold, thick oil rather than a dead cart. Warm it in your hand for a minute, then take a slow draw with the battery off to clear it. Check the battery is charged and the contact is clean.
• Storage. Keep it upright and away from heat. Oil left on its side in a hot car ends up in the mouthpiece.
