Description

Buy Big Mex Magic Mushrooms

Big Mex Magic Mushrooms, also known as Psilocybe mexicana, are a psilocybin-containing species with a long history in indigenous rituals and ceremonies, mainly in Mexico. We also stock the King Kong Magic Mushroom Strain Online.

Big Mex Origin and Genetics

Psilocybe mexicana grows wild in parts of North and Central America, especially Mexico. The Aztecs called these mushrooms “teonanácatl,” meaning “god’s flesh,” and used them in spiritual practice. French botanist Roger Heim first classified the species and brought it to the attention of Western scientists. Also in stock: Phobos Magic Mushrooms Strain.

Effects of Big Mex Magic Mushrooms

Commonly reported effects include:

  • Visual and auditory hallucinations: sharper colors, patterns and sounds.
  • Euphoria: a lifted mood and a sense of connection.
  • Deep introspection: more self-awareness and reflective thinking.

Potency is considered moderate compared to other psilocybin mushrooms.

Cultivation: How to Grow Big Mex Magic Mushrooms

Growing Psilocybe mexicana follows these stages.

1. Strain Selection

Buy Psilocybe mexicana spores from a reputable supplier so the genetics are right.

2. Substrate Preparation

Nutrient-rich substrates work best:

  • Rye grain: a solid nutritional base for mycelium.
  • Brown rice flour (BRF): used in the PF Tek method and good for beginners.
  • Coco coir and vermiculite: a popular mix that holds moisture well.

Sterilize the substrate in a pressure cooker or autoclave to kill contaminants.

3. Inoculation

Once the substrate has cooled, inoculate it with Psilocybe mexicana spores. Work in a sterile space, ideally a laminar flow hood or still air box.

4. Incubation

Keep the jars or bags somewhere dark and warm, at 75°F to 80°F (24°C to 27°C). Colonization usually takes 2 to 4 weeks, depending on conditions and substrate.

5. Fruiting Conditions

After full colonization, move the substrate to a fruiting chamber with:

  • Temperature: 70°F to 75°F (21°C to 24°C).
  • Humidity: 85% to 95%.
  • Light: indirect natural light or low artificial light on a 12-hour light/dark cycle.
  • Fresh air exchange: regular ventilation so carbon dioxide doesn’t build up.

Mushrooms usually start forming within one to two weeks in good conditions. Harvest just before the veil under the cap breaks.

6. Harvesting

Remove mature mushrooms gently. Bruising can cost potency.

7. Drying and Storage

Dry Psilocybe mexicana soon after harvest, ideally in a food dehydrator on a low setting. Store it in airtight containers away from light and moisture.
